Mischievous elements are trying to create unrest in Punjab

IN a press note issued on August 31, CPI(M) Punjab has  strongly condemned the attack on a church in Thakkarpura village near Patti town in the Tarn Taran district.

Alleging a conspiracy behind this attack, CPI(M) demanded from the Punjab government that strict action should be taken after identifying such mischievous and anti-social elements.
It is pertinent to mention here that the miscreants tried to create an atmosphere of fear and terror by setting fire to a church in the village so as to disturb the communal unity of Punjab.

Kerala: M V Govindan Elected as CPI(M) State Secretary

ON August 28, 2022, CPI(M) state committee elected M V Govindan as the new secretary of the state unit. According to the statement issued by the state committee, the decision was taken as Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, CPI(M) current state secretary was not well due to health reasons. Central Committee member, E P Jayarajan presided over the meeting attended by Party general secretary, Sitaram Yechury, Polit Bureau members, Prakash Karat, Pinarayi Vijayan, and  M A Baby.

AP: Relief Activities in Districts Hit by Godavari Flood

THE Godavari River created havoc flooding vast areas from July 9 to 20. A Flood of such a scale in July was the first time in almost a decade. The flood severely hit people's normal life. The worst affected were the proposed oustees of the Polavaram project while the ‘lanka’ (island) villages were also damaged. The CPI(M) organised various relief measures in four villages on the Godavari riverbed.

Tripura: People Vow to Protect Constitution from Onslaught by Ruling Dispensation

A SERIES of programmes were organised across Tripura to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence and 80 years of the Quit India Movement, at the call of the CPI(M) state committee. The DYFI also organised a host of programmes separately on the occasions. These programmes included rallies, processions, hall meetings, human chains and blood donation camps. On August 15, the national flag was hoisted in all Party and mass organisation offices.
