HKS Surjeet Bhawan Inaugurated Permanent Party School to Train Cadres

H K S SURJEET Bhawan was inaugurated on October 2, 2019 at New Delhi. The bhawan will be a permanent party school for the cadres to be trained in the science of Marxism. The flag hoisting at the Surjeet Bhawan was done by S R Pillai, senior most Polit Bureau member of the CPI(M). The statute of Comrade  H K S Surjeet was unveiled by Biman Bose-PB member and the official inauguration of the building was done by Sitaram Yechury-general secretary of the Party.

Haryana: AIDWA State Conference

THE 10th Haryana state conference of AIDWA was held on August 31-September1 at Bhiwani on the issues of drug abuse, liquor menace, patriarchal ideology manifesting in various formsand other issues confronting the people and the women in particular.

The open session was presided over by Shakuntala Jhakhad, state president of AIDWA and Shubha who is a famous poet and writer.

Rajasthan: Successful Mass Movement Against Attack on Girl Students

After a prolonged persistent struggle initially by the students of Sikar college in Rajasthan, and then led by the CPI(M) against the brutal cane charge on girl students; the demands of the struggle were eventually met by forcing the state government to transfer the district magistrate and the police chief. The agitation continued for over 24 days from August 28 when the students were attacked by the police.

TRIPURA: Police Permission for Dalit Rally Withdrawn at Last Minute

IN an unprecedented move, Tripura Police in Agartala had suddenly stopped a march convened by the Tripura Tapasili Jati Samanway Samiti (TTJSS) as part of an all-India protest call. A convention was organised on September 1 as part of it and the police permission was sought much in advance. But initially, they denied permission on the grounds that the date coincided with the day of by-election to the Badharghat assembly constituency. Then it was rescheduled for September 25.

Left Parties National Convention

THE Left parties – Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation, Revolutionary Socialist Party  and the All India Forward Bloc – have organised an all India convention at New Delhi on September 20. They have given a call for week long actions throughout the country from October 10 to 16. On October 16th, there will be massive protest demonstrations in different parts of the country.

TRIPURA: Youth Upsurge in Agartala

WE are the youth, we want jobs. The slogan reverberated in the streets of Agartala, as thousands of youth marched through the city on September 16.

The city of Agartala witnessed waves after waves of youth walking past the route from Rabindra Bhavan to Vivekananda Stadium in an organised and determined march at the call of the DYFI and the TYF.

The two youth organisations had given the call of  "Agartala Cholo" with a  12 point charter of demands.
