PROGRESSIVE Democratic Front candidates have been elected to the AP state legislative council in the biennial elections held on March 22. KS Lakshmana Rao from Krishna Guntur district graduates’ constituency and I Venkateswara Rao from Godavari districts graduates’ constituency scored impressive victory. They defeated corporate education barons and their representatives. It’s a welcome feature that wide spread discussion has taken place among the teachers, employees and youth against corporatisation of education and health.

KERALA: Rahul’s Candidature from Wayanad: Cong Must Decide its Priority

THE primary aim of the CPI(M) in the April-May parliamentary election is to defeat the BJP and its allies, and the Congress must decide what its priority is, party general secretary Sitaram Yechury told a ‘Meet the Press’ event in Thiruvananthapuram on March 31 in response to a question on the candidature of Congress president Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad in Kerala.

Left Unleashes Electoral Campaign in Telangana

TELANGANA state is having 17 parliamentary seats, out of which 4 seats namely Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahbubabad and Bhonagiri will be jointly contested by CPI (M) and CPI. CPI(M) is contesting Khammam and Nalgonda, CPI is contesting Bhonagiri and Mahbubabad. 

CPI(M) has officially announced the candidature of Mallu Laxmi from Nalgonda constituency and B Venkat from Khammam constituency. Kalluri Venkateswarlu and Goda Sreeramulu are contesting from Mahbubabad and Bhonagiri as CPI candidates.

Meanwhile In Tripura

AS will appear in the same issue separately, a delegation comprising of CPI(M) and CPI leadership met the  Election Commission of India on March 25. In their submission to the ECI the Left leaders have reiterated their apprehensions regarding a free and fair election in Tripura which is scheduled to be held in two phases on April 11 and 18.
