‘PM Pleading Ignorance on NRC is Meaningless’

PRIME Minister Narendra Modi’s assertion that there had been no discussion on a countrywide National Register of Citizens (NRC) is not correct, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury has said. Protest Demonstrations Continue across the Country against Citizenship (Amendment) Act

TAMIL NADUAS waves of protest arose in the country against the draconian Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) over the past week, Secular Democratic Front (SDF) led by the DMK had organised a rally in Chennai to join the cause and to expose the subservient role of the ruling AIADMK to the BJP in the centre, which has supported the Act.Chennai police had denied permission to the rally on flimsy grounds and a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was also filed before the Madras High Court to prevent the rally.

Road Transport Workers Oppose CAA

THE All India Road Transport Workers' Federation (AIRTWF), in a statement issued on December 21, has demanded the central BJP government to repeal the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and condemned the brutal attack on protesters.The BJP government, amidst strong protesting voices in the parliament, had passed the CAA to keep away a section of people living in India by striping their rights as citizens. The government has imposed religious criteria by considering certain sections of people, violating the provisions of our constitution.

THE 13th all India conference of All India Lawyers Union(AILU) will be held on December 27-29,  2019 at Kochi in Kerala. CPI(M) to challenge CAA in SC
