AP: CITU Golden Jubilee Observed with Vigour

WORKERS in Andhra Pradesh observed the golden jubilee celebrations of CITU with vigour. Flag marches, rallies, meetings and blood donation camps were organised in this connection. Golden jubilee meeting was held in Kalabharati at Visakhapatnam, which was presided over by Ch Narasinga Rao, CITU state president. He explained the historical background for the formation of CITU and narrated the ebbs and flows of the movement. In any tough situation, CITU stood to safeguard the interests of working class, he explained.

P R Natarajan

P R Natarajan was a member of the Party state committee for a long time. Currently, he is a member of the district secretariat of Coimbatore. He was elected to the parliament from Coimbatore constituency in 2009 Lok Sabha elections. He has a good name among the public both as a CPI(M) leader and as an MP. P R Natarajan who contested from Coimbatore parliamentary constituency secured 5,71,150 (45.6 per cent) votes defeating his nearest rival (BJP candidate) by a margin of  1,76,918 votes.

Violence and Hatred Unleashed in Begusarai

AFTER the elections to the Lok Sabha, violence and hatred is being spread in Begusarai, in Bihar. On May 26, Mohammad Qasim was shot in the chest allegedly by Raju Yadav who is supposedly a liquor baron of the region and supplies illegal liquor(sale of liquor is an offence in Bihar).Qasim who is a native of Khanjapur village works as a salesman; he had gone to Kumbhi village to sell the produce in a mobile van.

Rajasthan: Left Parties Demand Stern Action

A DELEGATION comprising of Sumitra Chopra from CPI(M), Rahul Chaudhary from (CPIML), former MLA Pawan Duggal and other leaders of mass organisations like the DSMM and AIDWA visited village Lalabari in Thanagaji in Alwar district. The delegation met the victim of gang rape and her husband who narrated the gory incident of rape by a gang of the region. This gang has ample support of the local police. This gang is also involved in incidents of rioting and loot. Sushila Devi , victim’s mother and Ramjilal, her uncle said they had no altercation with the gang.
