AP: Burn Farm Acts in Bhogi Bonfire

RYTU Garjana, farmers’ vehicle rally, gave a clarion call to the people to burn the draconian Farm Acts in the bhogi bonfire as part of Sankranti celebrations. Farmers and activists took out a huge rally of tractors, autos, two-wheelers in Vijayawada on the January 4, at the call of AIKSCC state committee. Farmers, agricultural workers, tenant farmers participated in a big number and the working class took part in the march in solidarity with the farmers agitating near the national capital against the farm laws forcefully adopted by the central government.

50 Years of Study, Struggle & Sacrifice

SFI COMPLETED its 50 years of study, struggle and sacrifice on December 30, 2020. The celebration of golden jubilee started in 2019 with a rally and public meeting in Dumdum, followed by the 49th foundation day celebration at Malappuram, Kerala. Since then, various activities were taken up remembering the glorious legacy of one of the largest students’ organisation in India. But the unprecedented pandemic situation forced in changing many of the scheduled programmes. Instead of following the usual calendar, SFI comrades had to take charge of providing the basic minimum to the needy.

AFTER the election result BJP with 74 seats made its intention clear by nominating two of its RSS trained MLA’s as deputy CMs and also grabbed the powerful speaker’s post. The most trusted friend of Nitish Kumar in the  BJP, Sushil Kumar Modi was sent to Rajya Sabha. Now Nitish Kumar is totally dependent on the whims and fancies of BJP top brass in Delhi and Patna to save his post as a chief minister.

AIAWU will Observe Protests on January 6-7

THE All India Agricultural Workers Union(AIAWU) will observe protests on January 6-7 throughout the country. The ongoing struggle against three farm laws and Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2002, is continuing since last one month and farmers are sitting at Delhi borders at five major national highways which connect Delhi to rest of India. Apart from the peasants, a large section of the workers, including tenant farmers, other cultivators and landless labourers, dependent directly and indirectly on agriculture, are part of this struggle.

Tamil Nadu: Massive Kisan Rally

THE AIKSCC Tamil Nadu unit held a massive rally in Thanjavur extending solidarity to the farmers' agitation and demanding the withdrawal of the farm laws. The rally was attended by thousands of farmers from across the state. The farmers from various districts were stopped by the police from travelling to the public meeting. AIKS state secretary, P Shanmugam and other leaders of AIKSCC addressed the massive rally.

Kerala: League Goons attack and kill a CPI(M) Worker

ON December 24, in another brutal incident, a DYFI and CPI(M) worker was hacked to death by Indian Union Muslim League criminals in Kanjangad, in Kasargod district. Auf Abdurahman (27) was a member of Kalluravi unit committee of DYFI. He was hacked to death at 10.30 pm. Auf Abdurahman was on the way to his home after getting some money from a friend to treat his pregnant wife Shahina. The IUMLcriminals stopped his motorcycle and stabbed with sharp weapons. Auf’s friend Shuhaib was also injured in the attack.
