This special conference, which was the first major public programme being held in Puducherry after it was given recognition as a state committee by the Party Central Committee, witnessed an unprecedented mass gathering of Party members and public, at the Kamban Kalai Arangam Auditorium.

Kerala Raj Bhavan March: Stop Misuse of Governor's Post

THOUSANDS of people in Thiruvananthapuram marched towards Raj Bhavan on November 15, to register their protest against Governor Arif Mohammed Khan's persistent interventions in the functioning of universities of Kerala. A massive gathering organised by the Higher Education Protection Committee consisting of academicians, educationists, cultural activists, artists, various political party leaders and public figures, was inaugurated by CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury.

Gujarat: SFI Holds State Conference

AFTER a long hiatus of 33 years, the state Conference of SFI's Gujarat state unit was held on November 6, 2022 in Ahmedabad and it was SFI Gujarat's third state conference. The second conference of SFI Gujarat was held at Sidhpur (Patan) on January 31-February 1, 1989. The third conference was inaugurated by V P Sanu SFI, all India president and Nitheesh Narayanan, SFI central secretariat member. Arun Mehta, CITU Gujarat state secretary and Hitendra Bhatt, AIIEA joint secretary, Satish Parmar, CITU Gujarat state president had extended revolutionary greetings to the SFI conference. 

Maha: AIKS State Conference Calls for Struggles against BJP Govt’s Disastrous Policies

THE 23rd AIKS Maharashtra state conference was held from October 31 to November 2, 2022 at Akole, in Ahmednagar district.  The last 22nd state conference was held over six years ago in May 2016 at Talasari in Palghar district. These six years saw the massive and united 11-day state wide farmers’ strike in June 2017, the unprecedented Maharashtra AIKS-led Kisan Long March from Nashik to Mumbai in March 2018, and the historic year-long victorious SKM-led struggle at Delhi and all over the country from November 26, 2020 to December 11, 2021.  

United in the Struggle against Exploitation

THE 22nd International Meeting of the Communist and Workers Parties (IMCWP) gave a clarion call to launch united campaigns against oppressive and exploitative policies of imperialism and capitalism. 145 representatives of 78 Communist and Workers parties from 60 countries participated in the 22nd IMCWP, held for the first time in the heroic Cuba. The IMCWP session was held in Havana, the capital city of Cuba on October 28-29, 2022. A meeting of the working group (WG) was held on the 27th.

WB: October Revolution It keeps Inspiring the World

CPI (M) West Bengal state committee organised a discussion on the ‘October Revolution: The Impact and the Chinese Way towards Socialism’ on November 7, at Pramode Dasgupta Bhavan (Kolkata district centre of the Party). The meeting was held after a daylong observation of the October Revolution at various places all over the state. Polit Bureau member Surjyakanta Mishra was the main speaker. Biman Basu presided over the meeting.

National Convention Calls for United Action to Protect Dalit Rights

HUNDREDS of people from across India gathered at HKS Surjeet Bhavan in New Delhi on November 5 for a day long national convention against growing attacks on dalits. The convention was jointly organised by Dalit Shoshan Mukti Much (DSMM), All India Agricultural Workers Union (AIAWU), All India Dalit Rights Movement (AIDRM), Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Union (BKMU) and All India Agricultural and Rural Labour Association (AIARLA).

J&K: AIKS State Conference at Srinagar

JAMMU & Kashmir Kisan Tehreek, an affiliate of the All India Kisan Sabha, held its day-long seventh Kashmir regional conference at Srinagar, Kashmir, on November 3, 2022. It was attended by 130 delegates from all the ten districts of the region. The J&K membership this year is 25,000, which is commendable considering the grave political challenges in Kashmir. The conference was attended by AIKS president Ashok Dhawale.
