Attempt to Disrupt Press Conference

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on June 7.
THE Polit Bureau strongly condemns the efforts made by two persons claiming allegiance to an RSS outfit to disrupt a press conference being addressed by general secretary Sitaram Yechury at the end of the two-day meeting of the Polit Bureau.

Condemn Brutal Attack on Protesters In Kolkata

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the followings statement on May 22, 2017.

THE Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongly condemns the police brutality unleashed against peaceful protesters at the state government headquarters Nabanna in Kolkata on May 22. Over nine hundred protesters were grievously injured and over a hundred of them are reportedly in a critical condition. Even media personnel were not spared.

Harkishan Singh Surjeet Bhawan, CPI(M) Central Party School

COMRADE Harkishan Singh Surjeet always used to emphasise that the political and ideological education combined with the rich experiences of class and mass struggles equips the Party cadres to combat the offensives of the class enemies and develop the political mass base of the Party. Therefore a permanent Party central school is needed in order to advance the revolutionary movement. Keeping this in mind the Polit Bureau decided to build a permanent central school and name it after Comrade Harkishan Singh Surjeet.

Stop Atrocities on Dalits in Saharanpur

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on May 24
THE CPI(M) strongly condemns the murderous attacks on dalits in Saharanpur which has resulted in a dalit youth being killed and many seriously injured. Certain upper caste elements sporting the colours of the Hindu Yuva Vahini launched these attacks on people returning from a meeting addressed by BSP leader Mayawati.

CPI(M) Greets 17th Congress of CPRF

Below is the text of the message of greetings sent by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) to the Communist Party of Russian Federation on May 21, on the occasion of its 17th Congress.

THE Communist Party of India (Marxist) extends its warm fraternal greetings to the 17th Congress of the Communist Party of Russian Federation (CPRF). We take this opportunity to greet the leadership and all the members of the Party and express our heartfelt solidarity.

Shabbirpur Victims Accompanied by CPI(M) Leaders Meet President

CPI(M) Polit Bureau members Brinda Karat and Subhashini Ali along with the affected dalit families from the Shabbirpur village in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh met the president of India on May 17, 2017, and handed over a memorandum.  The president gave the delegation a very sympathetic hearing and expressed his anguish.  He said that he would do whatever was in his power to ensure justice to the dalits of Shabbirpur.  The memorandum gives the details of the violence perpetrated on the dalits in the village.

Belt and Road Initiative: Blinkered View of Government

INDIA has isolated itself by not participating in the Belt and Road Forum held in Beijing on May 14-15. To justify its non-participation, the Modi government has questioned the motives behind the One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative taken by China which is linking countries and regions representing 60 per cent of the world’s population and 30 per cent of the global GDP.
