Two Alternative Growth Paradigms

Rajasthan: CPI(M) Delegation Visits Family of Infant Killed in Police Brutality

A DELEGATION from the CPI(M), including Brinda Karat (Polit Bureau member), Kishan Parikh (secretary, Rajasthan state committee), Sumitra Chopra (state secretariat member), and Raisa (district secretary), visited the family of one-month-old Alishda on March 4, who was killed by police brutality on March 2, 2025.The incident occurred at 6 am on March 2 at Raghunathgarh village in Alwar district of Rajasthan when a group of policemen forcefully broke down the outer wall of Imran’s modest home. When Razida, the mother, opened the door, she was manhandled and dragged outside by male officers.

Impossible for a President of the Imperialist US to be a Peacemaker

ON Friday, February 28, when US President Donald Trump sat in the Oval Office of the White House with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump mused: ‘I hope I will be remembered as a peacemaker’.As Trump talked about the necessity to make a deal between Russia and Ukraine, Zelenskyy fidgeted. The two men, representing two different sets of interests, did not see eye-to-eye either on the nature of this war or on the possibility of concluding it. Zelenskyy sees Russia as the out-and-out aggressor, and he feels that Russian President Vladimir Putin will never agree to a stable peace.
