Pass Women’s Reservation Bill in the Monsoon Session of Parliament

THE Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) had given a call to observe a day on July 15, demanding the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the monsoon session of the parliament, which ensures 33 per cent reservation for women in parliament and state assemblies. Hundreds of people, especially women, participated in the protest demonstrations across the country.It has been more than 20 years since the time the bill was first introduced in the parliament by H D Deve Gowda led government in the year 1996.

Kisan Mukti Sansad Demands Loan Waiver & Remunerative Prices

THE All India Kisan Sabha activists holding red flags, along with farmers from across the country, participated in the Kisan Mukti Sansad at Jantar-Mantar in New Delhi on July 18. Convene Tripartite Meeting to Discuss Darjeeling Situation

IN a letter written on July 13 CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury has requested home minister, Rajanth Singh to urgently convene a tripartite meeting to discuss the situation in Darjeeling. He said a very grave situation has arisen in the hill areas of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts in the state of West Bengal. Since July 8, eight people have died so far and many injured in police firing on protesters agitating against the state government’s announcement of making Bengali a mandatory language.

CITU Working Committee Meeting, Shimla: Fight Anti National Policies of BJP Government Extend Solidarity to Farmers’ Struggles

At the Congress of Public Instruction held in Moscow in 1918, Comrades Lunacharski and Nadezhda Krupskaya delivered two important speeches, explaining, in general lines, the policy of the Soviets towards education. Mumbai Protests against Hate Crimes
