JAMMU & KASHMIR: Gupkar Alliance Demands Restoration of Article 370 and 35A

Below we publish the text of the resolution adopted in the extended meeting of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) on August 24, 2021 held at Srinagar.UNCONSTITUTIONAL decisions of August 5, 2019 taken in the parliament to nullify Articles 370 and 35A of the constitution of India and the damaging legislation which dismembered the historic state and created two union territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh - has created a big political void and deep uncertainty in the erstwhile state.

Haryana: Judicial Probe Needed in Leakage of Exam Papers

SFI, DYFI, and Janwadi Mahila Samiti staged a protest at the office of the Haryana Staff Selection Commissioner, Panchkula on August 20, against repeated leakage of the selection examination papers in the state.The protesters were led by DYFI state president Shahnawaz, general secretary Naresh, SFI state vice president Arjun, and Manjeet, Janwadi Mahila Samiti general secretary Savita, and treasurer Rajkumari. CITU state general secretary Jai Bhagwan, district secretary Lachi Ram, and others addressed the meeting.

Halt this Sell Out!

CAMOUFLAGED in jargon that speaks of ‘monetisation of de-risked assets’, the BJP-led NDA government has announced its plan to sell out India’s public sector. In that plan, assets ranging from roads, ports, airports and railway track and stations, through fuel pipelines, telecom towers, optical fibre cabling, warehouses, and stadia, are to be handed over to big private investors in return for upfront or staggered payments of around Rs 6 lakh crore over a four year period ending financial year 2025.

NATIONAL MONETISATION PIPELINE: A Nefarious Design to Loot National Assets: CITU

THE Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), in a statement issued on August 24, has denounced BJP government’s project ‘National Monetisation Pipeline’ (NMP) to hand over productive national assets including vital functional infrastructural assets worth several lakhs of crores of rupees to the domestic and foreign private monopolies, for a pittance. AP: United Forum Protests against Urban Reforms

THE people of urban Andhra Pradesh are in protest against the hike in property tax and imposition of user charges for garbage collection.The state government has issued a GO to change the system of levying property tax from annual rental value basis (ARV) system to capital value (CV) system. As per the GO, the capital value of lands and buildings fixed by the Stamps and Registration Department for the purpose of registration will be deemed to be the guideline value for fixation of property tax.
