There was a caste wall erected obstructing the entry to dalit dwellings by real estate lobby in the above village. It was demolished on September 15, 2022 by officials with police protection.

The Tamilnadu Untouchability Eradication Front (TNUEF) and the Tamilnadu Tribal Association spearheaded agitations forcing the authorities to act.

After a series of agitations, the demolition took place today. The residents of the village belonging to the Arunthathiyar community thanked the TNUEF and the Tribal Association for tireless efforts in getting the wall demolished.
