CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on February 21THE Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) condemns the decision taken by the cabinet committee on economic affairs to open up coal mining to Indian and foreign companies in the private sector. This is part of the aggressive pursuit of neo-liberal economic policies by the Narendra Modi government. Till now the private sector was permitted to mine the fossil fuel only for captive use ie, utilised only for the industry for which the allocation of the block was done.

CPI(M) senior leader and MLA Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, on February 18, has termed the rally organised by a fringe right-wing group using the tricolour, demanding the release of the accused in the brutal rape-and-murder case of an eight-year-old Bakerwal girl in Kathua district, as most shameful and against human values.The rally is an indication of dangers confronting Jammu and Kashmir. Fraud and Crony Capitalism under the Modi regime

THE Punjab National Bank scam is the most brazen and shocking case of defrauding in the history of Indian banking. Nirav Modi, reputed to be the 85th richest Indian and his uncle, Mehul Choksi are reported to have embezzled Rs 11,400 crores through the repeated issue of fake letters of undertaking (LOUs) by colluding bank officials.That the fraud has been going on since 2011 and peaked in the year 2017 indicates the scale and ease with which such fraud was perpetrated.

DUJ Condemns Sacking of DailyO Today Editor

THE Delhi Union of Journalists and its Gender Council, in a statement issued on February 16, has condemned the arbitrary sacking of editor Angshukanta Chakraborty by the India Today group for a personal tweet opposing hate news and fake news and demanding action against its purveyors. ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS: CPI(M) Tripura State Committee’s letter to Chief Election Commissioner

Telangana State Conference of CPI(M): A Conference of Confidence

NALGONDA was the epicentre of the Telangana Armed Struggle which brought to fore the land issue.  Nalgonda which had a background of Left struggles and strong Left movement hosted the second conference of CPI(M) Telangana from February 4-7, 2018. CPI(M) Chhattisgarh State Conference

THE sixth state conferene of CPI(M) Chhattisgarh committee was held from February 1-3, 2018 at Bishrampur in Surajpur district. It gave a clarion call to defeat BJP and to strengthen the organisation and expand mass struggles to establish Left as the alternative political force in the state.  The conference was attended by 101 delegates, including four observers and eight women.The conference started on February 1 with a massive and colourful tribal rally and a public meeting at Hospital Grounds. The dais was named as Comrade Fidel Castro Manch.
