Party Cadre Giving Succour to People Amid Deadly Covid-19 Second Wave

AS India battled a deadly second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, cadres of the CPI(M) and other mass organisations including trade union, student and youth have been providing succour to the people in distress. From supply of critical medicines and oxygen to daily meals, Party workers across the country are working day and night to alleviate sufferings of the people.

Mahavir Narwal : A life lived with Revolutionary Ideals in Practice.

SOME traumatic incidents do completely expose the extent of degradation in the existing times. The untimely and tragic passing away of Mahavir Narwal turned out to be ironically one of those incidents. Narwal passed away on May 9 due to Covid related complications. His demise at a time when his daughter was locked up in a prison cell on totally baseless and malafide charges has shaken all the democratic sections of our society.

Communist stalwart Com Gowri Amma passes away

VETERAN communist leader K R  Gouri Amma is no more. Firebrand Communist K R Gouri Amma (102) passed away at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on May 11 morning due to age-related ailments.

Gouri Amma has had an exciting and lengthy political career in Kerala as a student leader, trade unionist, kisan and women’s leader, and minister in successive Left-led governments. Her life was synonymous with the history of modern Kerala. The courage she showed throughout her life as a revolutionary is said to be unparalleled.

LDF landslide victory in Kerala

ENDORSING the achievement made by the Pinarayi government in the last five years and its effort to resist the communal forces, the people of Kerala have once again voted CPI(M) led Left Democratic Front to power with a thumping majority. LDF bagged 99 seats and Congress-led United Democratic Front was restricted to 41 seats.

Most of the LDF candidates won with huge margins, while some candidates lost by thin margins, especially in those where BJP transferred thousands of votes to UDF.

TN: Doors Shown to BJP’s Anti-Federalism

THE people of Tamil Nadu resoundingly rejected BJP and its game plan to piggyback on the AIADMK to get a foothold in the state in the assembly elections. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-led Secular Progressive Alliance won with a thumping majority of 159 seats of  the total 234 while the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)-led front was limited to 75 seats of which 65 were bagged by the AIADMK.

West Bengal: Woman Comrade Murdered

COMRADE Kakoli Khetrapal, a 52-year-old CPI(M) worker from Nabagram in East Burdwan's Jamalpur was hacked to death on Sunday, May 2nd. Trinamool Congress members, celebrating their election victory, entered her home while she was cooking and attacked her with a sharp weapon. Comrade Khetrapal died on way to the hospital. She was marked out for this brutal attack because she had worked as CPI(M)'s polling agent from Nabagram.

We call upon the central government to focus all attention in ensuring the uninterrupted flow of oxygen supplies to all hospitals and health centres across the country.

We call upon the central government to immediately launch a free mass vaccination programme across the country.
