Cuba will Continue to Resist Inhuman US Blockade: Aleida

IN the last of the series of meetings as part of Aleida Guevara’s whirlwind tour in India organised by the  National Committee for Solidarity with Cuba held in Delhi, hundreds of young students and general public enthusiastically participated. The meeting was held to extend solidarity of the Indian people with Cuba and oppose the inhuman economic blockade imposed by the US.

Haryana Sugarcane Farmers on Struggle

THE All India Sugarcane Farmers Federation affiliated to the All India Kisan Sabha, in a statement issued on January 20, has strongly supported the struggle of Haryana sugarcane farmers who have stopped supplying sugarcane to sugar mills from January 20 demanding increase of sugarcane price from the present Rs 362 per quintal to Rs 450 per quintal. This increase is required because of a sharp rise in the cost of production and based on the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission.

Transport Workers Sangharsh Jatha

TRANSPORT Workers Sangharsh Jatha was held in Telangana from January 3-11. There was a huge response to the jatha programme. Jatha was organised to know the problems faced by the transport workers at grassroots level, and also  toorganise and unite them and build struggles.Jatha was led by S Veeraiah and P Srikanth, president and general secretary of Telangana Public and Private Road Transport Workers Federation, respectively.

Desh Sewak lauded for its fearless journalism

A FUNCTION to celebrate the 27th Foundation Day of the Punjabi Daily Desh Sewak was organized today at Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna Bhawan, Chandigarh. Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, CPI(M) Central Committee Member and prominent leader of Jammu & Kashmir, while addressing the large gathering, said that  Desh Sewak, which used to be published from Jalandhar in the 1920s was forced to shut down by the British government.

Resolve of the All India Conference of CITU: Step-up Defiance against Anti-Working Class Policies

THE 17th All India Conference of CITU began with a rousing reception to the   working class and their representatives who had come from all corners of the country to Bengaluru to take part in the five-day conference from January 18-22, 2023. 1,500 delegates representing around 62 lakh members from 25 states and union territories and representatives of fraternal organisations are attending the conference.The conference began in the morning on January 18th with flag hoisting.

She is one of the countless poor who are being deprived of even the basic amenities, a hapless populace being pushed to the wall with all their human rights trampled upon. But considered from another angle she is different as she has chosen not to perpetually suffer in silence but to challenge the mighty, to rise and protest against injustice. Again, at one level what has happened to her is nothing special.
