THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) expresses its deep grief at the passing away of Comrade Mallu Swarajyam, veteran leader of the Party and legendary fighter of the Telangana People’s Armed Struggle. She was 91.

CPI(M)  Polit Bureau met in New Delhi on March 12-13. It has issued the following statement on March 13 RECENT ASSEMBLYELECTIONSThe BJP was elected to form governments once again in all its incumbent states – Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur. With intensified communal polarisation, control over large sections of the media and immense money power, BJP could retain its Uttar Pradesh government with a reduced majority. The people of Punjab voted for the Aam Aadmi Party rejecting the traditional two parties – Congress and Akali Dal.

On Assembly Election Results

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on March 10THE BJP has won a second successive victory in the UP elections. With intensified communal polarisation, control over large sections of the media and immense money power, BJP retained government with a reduced majority. Despite the immense economic hardships faced by the people, relief measures like provision of free foodgrains, have had an impact.The BJP has also won the Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur elections. In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party has won a sweeping victory.

Ukraine: Peace is a Priority

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on February 25THE Communist Party of India (Marxist) expresses its grave concern at the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine. It is unfortunate that Russia took military action against Ukraine. There should be an immediate cessation of armed hostilities and peace should be established.After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the United States led NATO has been steadily expanding eastward, contrary to the assurance given to Russia.

Haridwar Meet: Take Strong Action

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on December 24:THE extreme hate speeches and incitement to violence against Muslims at the so-called dharam sansad in Haridwar is a flagrant violation of the Constitution, the legal framework. The speeches are akin to supporting terrorist acts including against former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh.It could continue without hindrance for three days because of the impunity such people enjoy under the BJP-led governments.

Unjust J&K Delimitation Of Assembly Seats

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on December 21THE recommendations of the Jammu & Kashmir Delimitation Commission are patently unjustified and illogical.As per 2011 Census, Kashmir’s population is 68.8 lakhs, while Jammu’s is 53.5 lakhs.  As per the proposal, Kashmir gets 47 assembly seats and Jammu 43.  A fair delimitation should have given 51 seats out of 90 to Kashmir.Further, the constitution of the Delimitation Commission under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act 2019 in itself is questionable, as the Reorganisation Act has been
