Condemn ED Action in Kerala

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on March 5

THE Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) action of registering a case against the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) is a blatant misuse of the agency as a political tool by the BJP government at the centre.

The finance minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, while addressing a BJP election meeting in Kerala made unfounded allegations against the KIIFB and the LDF government.  Following this, the ED has taken this totally unwarranted action.

Stop this Persecution

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on February 15

THE arrest of Disha Ravi, a climate activist from Bengaluru, by the Delhi police is an atrocious action which deserves to be condemned in the strongest terms.

The 22 year-old activist has been charged with sedition and criminal conspiracy on the absurd grounds that she had forwarded a “tool-kit” in support of the farmers’ struggle.

Drop the Cases against Bhima Koregaon Accused

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on February 11

THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) demands the dropping of cases against activists arrested in the Bhima Koregaon case and asks the Maharashtra government to set up an SIT to enquire into the developments exposed by the credible reports of international experts as to how evidence was manufactured and planted in the computer of one of the activists, Rona Wilson.

Yet Another Attack on Independent Media

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on February 10

THE CPI(M) condemns the Enforcement Directorate raid on the offices of Newsclick, a digital news portal and the houses of its editors and the owner.

The ED action is a blatant attempt to intimidate and suppress an independent news portal. Newsclick has been providing credible and wide coverage of the farmers protests.

BJP’S ANTI-SOCIAL elements have launched a spree of fresh violence attacking CPI(M) leaders, activists and offices in Tripura. On January 17, they attacked a CPI(M) local committee office physically assaulting CPI(M) activists.
