Hailing LDF Victory in Kerala

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on December 16, 2020

THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) congratulates and salutes the people of Kerala for giving the Left Democratic Front in Kerala a big victory in the local body elections.  The LDF has won a big majority in all three tiers of the panchayats. The LDF has also won five out of the six corporations and leading in 11 of the 14 district panchayats.

Economy in Doldrums

CPI(M)  Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on November 12

THE Reserve Bank of India has now officially confirmed the severe slowdown of the Indian economy and said “India has entered a technical recession in the first half of 2020-21 for the first time in its history”.

After the GDP plummeting by 23.9 per cent in April-June quarter, it has now further fallen by 8.6 per cent on top of this in the quarter ending September 2020.

No to Direct Government Control of Digital Media

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on November 12.

BY a notification, the central government has brought all digital/online media platforms and online content providers within the ambit of the ministry of information & broadcasting. These were under the ministry of information and electronic technology earlier, and subject to various provisions under the IT Act to deal with digital platforms and intermediaries.

A Travesty of Justice

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on September 30

THE verdict of the Special CBI Court at Lucknow acquitting all 32 accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case amounts to a travesty of justice. It took 28 long years for this verdict but not justice to be delivered.  All the top leaders of the BJP-VHP-RSS who were present at the scene guiding the criminal act have been found to be innocent of the charge of conspiracy to demolish the mosque.
