THE All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) has had several massive, effective and victorious struggles in Maharashtra during the last few years. Many of them have been documented in these columns. Apart from state conferences, there have been regular two-day state organisational workshops of the AIKS. However, state level study camps were not so regular.To overcome this weakness, the AIKS held a three-day Maharashtra state study camp in Pune city from October 16-18, 2023. A total of 142 main activists from 19 districts attended.
THE Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) conducted a dharna on October 29 in solidarity with Palestine and condemning Israeli aggression. All the members of the Central Committee, including the Polit Bureau members, participated in the dharna.Sitaram Yechury, general secretary of the CPI(M), in his inaugural address, strongly denounced Israel's aggression against Palestine. He emphasised that Israel's aerial and ground offensive aimed to displace all Palestinians from Gaza and occupy the region.
UNION minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, by seeking to make communal capital out of the bomb blasts at a Christian group gathering in Kalamassery in Kerala, has exposed the vicious nature of the campaign the BJP-RSS circles are conducting regarding Israel’s war on Gaza.Chandrasekhar, immediately after the blasts, hinted that jihadi elements had targeted a Christian congregation. He blamed the Kerala government because it had “allowed” a Hamas leader to address a gathering and as a consequence within twenty four hours the bomb blasts had occurred.
THE Communist Party of India (Marxist) has called upon the general public in Chhattisgarh to ensure the defeat of the BJP and the presence of the Left in the state assembly. This will also put a stop to the communal politics of Hindutva and the anti-people politics of alliance with corporates and will focus on the basic issues of the people. The politics of people's struggle will get strengthened.
