Failure of Modi Govt in the Education Sector

IN the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, people gave singular majority to the BJP.Now, after almost five years, a lot of people who had believed the promises of ‘achhe din’, are probably biting their tongues and considering whether they did speak too soon? BJP wrote in its election manifesto in 2014,“25 crore employment opportunities will pull the on rising unemployment rate down.” The BJP had also promised that 2 crore new jobs will be provided every year in the run up to the 2014 election. However, the reality is different; 11 million jobs were lost in the year 2018.

Central Trade Unions Support BSNL Strike

THE united platform of all the unions of employees and officers of BSNL has jointly decided to go in for three days countrywide strike in all BSNL establishments in the country on February 18-20, against the blatant violation of the assurances given by the Government of India to sort out the long pending just demands of the employees and officers. The Central Trade Unions in a statement issued on February 13, have extended full support and solidarity to this three-day BSNL strike.

Baseless Allegations against Prajasakti Daily

A LIST of companies under the scanner of Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) in the backdrop of demonetisation was announced in the parliament in March 2018.  This list contains the name of Prajasakti Printers & Publishers Pvt Ltd also. Basing on this, some concocted, baseless stories appeared in some sections of media. These stories sought to spread falsehoods alleging that Prajasakti was involved in illegal monetary transactions of crores of rupees.  Hence this clarification:

BJP’S Authoritarian Assault

CPI(M) Polit Bureau of has issued the following statement on February 2

THE Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) condemns the arrest of Anand Teltumbde by the Pune Police. He was taken into custody at Mumbai airport at around 3.30 am.

It may be noted that the Supreme Court of India has granted this renowned scholar four weeks protection from arrest to enable him to obtain bail. That protection period ends only on February 11.

Mock Battle between BJP and TMC

THE Supreme Court order directing the Kolkata police commissioner to present himself before the CBI for questioning at a neutral venue and, at the same time, directing the CBI not to take any coercive action like arrest against the police officer has exposed the political posturing by both sides – Mamata Banerjee and the TMC government on one side and the BJP and the Modi government on the other.

Venezuelans Stand Tall

SO the reasons for the US meddling and interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela are finally out, direct from the horse’s mouth. Of course it is about oil, gold, diamonds and all the other natural resources that Venezuela has. But above all, it is about something more, as US president Donald Trump has stated in his State of the Union, ceremonial address to the US citizens.

Meanwhile in Tripura

THE Vision document of BJP for the assembly election of 2018 had promised to give 50,000 government jobs to the unemployed youths of Tripura within one year if they formed government. But after 11 months of the BJP led government in office, the much hyped promise of 50,000 government jobs remains unfulfilled. Further, the moves of the government make it clear that it wants to close the doors of government employment for the youth. Rather it wants to do away with recruitment of permanent employees and opt for outsourcing.
