RIL’s Gas Thieving & How It Escaped Punishment

SOON after Modi government came to power at the centre in 2014, the union ministry of petroleum and natural gas under Dharmendra Pradhan submitted a petition before Delhi High Court pleading for rejection of the complaint petition of the government’s own Navratna company ONGC against Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) for illegitimately drawing thousands of crores of rupees worth of natural gas from the ONGC’s block in KG basin.The ministry’s pleading said that the ONGC’s complaint was ‘frivolous’ and ‘belated’.

Protest March at Assam Bhavan against Killing of Farmers in Kaziranga by BJP Govt

AGAINST the brutal killing of two farmers in police firing in Assam, a protest march was organised in front of Assam Bhavan in New Delhi under the banner of Delhi Action Committee against Kaziranga Killings. The protesters shouted slogans and conducted a public meeting and condemned the atrocities committed by the BJP led government of Assam.The leader of the action committee, Banajith Hussain said the farmers in Kaziranga villages lived there since the 1960’s and are in possession of lease title, ration card, voter identity card etc.

Hindutva Forces Run Riot in Coimbatore

THE last few days have seen a surge of violence in Coimbatore district and neighbouring areas in Tamil Nadu as the Hindu Munnani, (a part of the Sangh Parivar) let loose a reign of terror. The incidents began after the murder of their leader Sasikumar and the bandh called by the organisation. Many activists of the Munnani and associated organisations gathered outside the hospital and there was a planned and concerted outbreak of violence. There were quite a few incidents of arson in which shops and establishments owned by Muslims were targeted.

The Alternate Development Strategy in Kerala

IS it possible to have a regional alternative development strategy under the bourgeois-landlord federal state? The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on September 27, 2016.PRIME Minister Modi's announcement that India would ratify the Paris Agreement on Climate Change is both surprising and violative of the assurance that this BJP government had given to parliament.Soon after the Paris Summit, the parliament was assured that India would not ratify the Paris Agreement until the national laws relating to environment, forests and energy are examined in the light of their capacity to implement the various provisions of the Paris Agreement.

CPI(M) Delegation’s Eventful Bilateral Visit
