Series of Heinous Attacks in Tripura by BJP

Coordinated Attacks on CPI(M) Offices & Cadre across the State1. In Udaipur town, on September 8, there was a pre-scheduled programme of the DFYI on the slogan “Where is my Job”. This programme had already obtained permission from the competent authority. The police, from the previous day, was insisting the organisers to cancel the programme. But they stuck to their programme. On the way to the programme, many participants were attacked by the BJP miscreants. While the procession was about to start, the police did not allow it to proceed.

MAHA: AIKS Rally Demands Crop Insurance Compensation

On August 30, thousands of peasants from the backward Marathwada and Vidarbha regions of Maharashtra, held an impressive rally at the State Agricultural Commissioner's office at Pune. They were demanding crop insurance compensation worth crores of rupees to lakhs of peasants who had paid their premium under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for the Kharif season 2020, had suffered tremendous crop losses due to excessive rains, but had not received any compensation at all from crop insurance companies.

The Scandal of Old-Age Pensions

JUNIOR Minister for Rural Development in the central government, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, ruled out in parliament any increase in the amount of monthly pension given by the centre to the elderly under the National Social Assistance Programme (The Telegraph, August 22). The amount currently being given to each beneficiary under this programme is a princely sum of Rs 200 per month for persons between ages 60 and 79, and Rs 500 per month for persons of 80 years and above!It is a shame and a disgrace that the central government offers such an utterly paltry sum to aged citizens.

Online Education—A conspiracy to keep people illiterate

SWATI Awasthi, a Class 10 student of Saraswati Vidya Mandir in the Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh went through extreme mental stress and lost her life on August 5, due to emotional trauma. The school principal had humiliated her a lot for not paying the fees and also refused to allow her to appear in the upcoming quarterly examinations.All her pleas went unheeded.  She could not cope with her plight and returned home and fell unconscious.
