The fact that it entails the subversion of secularism and the reduction of the Muslim minority, in particular, to the status of second class citizens, is clear.

THE All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) in a statement issued on August 10, has expressed its agreement with the latest three bench Supreme Court judgement which clarifies the law relating to a daughter’s right under Section 6 of the amended Hindu Succession Act (HSA) in 2005. The amendments in the HSA in 2005 made the daughter an equal coparcener (member) in the joint Hindu family governed by the Mitakshara law and removed the restriction on her from asking for partition of a joint family property.
THE Communist Party of India (Marxist) expresses its deep sorrow on the passing away of former general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Comrade Le Kha Phieu, at the age of 89. Le Kha Phieu was born on December 27, 1931 in Thanh Hóa Province’s Dong Son district and served in senior positions in the army and the Party. He became a member of the Party Central Committee in 1991 and was the general secretary of the Party from December 1997 to April 2001.Com Phieu was an outstanding leader of the older generation of the CPV and Vietnam.
