Charge against Government’s Disastrous Demonetisation is Vindicated

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement May 20, 2023RBI has withdrawn Rs 2000 note from circulation. The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) firmly believes that this move virtually reverses 2016 demonetisation, grandly announced by Modi as the answer to India’s problems of black money, corruption, terrorist funding and promoting digital economy. A dismal failure on all counts.

Enable GingerCPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on May 20, 2023THE Polit Bureau strongly condemns the central government ordinance to nullify the recent Supreme Court judgement by a five member constitution bench upholding the rights of the elected government of Delhi over major areas of governance including control of the bureaucracy. Not only does this constitute contempt of court, it is a direct assault on the federal character of the constitution and the norms of accountability and democratic governance as defined by the Supreme Court.

First Com P Sundarayya Memorial Lecture in Delhi

ON May 23, 2023, the first P Sundarayya Memorial Lecture in Delhi was delivered by CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Prakash Karat at the Harkishan Singh Surjeet Bhawan in New Delhi. The topic of his lecture was "P Sundarayya's Contributions to the Agrarian Question and its Contemporary Relevance".P Sundarayya was a renowned freedom fighter, and the towering leader of the historic Telangana Peasants Armed Struggle against landlordism. He was also the first general secretary of the CPI(M) from 1964 to 1976.The lecture was organised by the P Sundarayya Memorial Trust, Delhi.
