ON November 24, 2024, a meeting of the members of the Association of Indian Communists in Canada was held in Surrey, Canada. Secretary Surinder Sangha spoke on the political situation in India and shared updates about the 24th Party Congress, scheduled to be held in Madurai from April 2 to April 6, 2025.

Members expressed their condolences on the passing of Comrade Sitaram Yechury. He had a close relationship with comrades in Canada, and members paid tribute to him by sharing personal memories of their interactions during his three visits to Canada.

The Party's unit in Canada, which has been working among Indo-Canadian workers since 1982, reviewed its activities over the previous years and discussed the programmes and initiatives planned for the upcoming year. Surinder Sangha was elected as secretary for the next three years.

Prashant Mukherjee was elected as the delegate and Parmjit Gandhri (Randhawa) as the observer for the Party Congress. The alternate delegate is Surinder Dhesi and the alternate observer is Kulwant Dhesi.
