No Kings, No Wars: The Protest Waves Against Trump

TRUMP is easy to dislike. He has a boorish style, an attitude toward the world that in a sweep tosses out the niceties of diplomacy and international law. One way or the other, we are going to have Greenland, he said in mid-January 2026; I do believe I will have the honour of taking Cuba, he said in March. Vulgarities like these have not been seen in public for a very long time, perhaps since before 1945, for in the period since then such imperial longings have been masked behind words such as ‘democracy’ and ‘human rights’.

The Week In Parliament

LEFT and several other Opposition MPs staged a protest in the Parliament House complex on April 1 against the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, and demanded that the proposed legislation be withdrawn. The Opposition also demanded a discussion on the West Asia crisis, focusing on the impact on India's LPG, crude oil, and fertiliser supply.

Oil and the World Economy

THE disruption in oil supplies that started with Iran’s closure of the Hormuz Strait in response to US-Israeli bombings, is playing havoc with the world economy. Oil prices have shot up in terms of US dollars, and this in turn has been accompanied by a depreciation of other currencies, especially Asian currencies, vis-à-vis the dollar, causing even higher inflation in the periphery compared to the metropolitan capitalist centres.

Resist any attempt to loot your vote : Manik Sarkar

Hoisting the red flag was once virtually prohibited here. Much water has since flowed down the Gomati. Yet after eight years of BJP rule, large sections of voters have been unable to cast a ballot. Terror, intimidation, assaults, and destruction remain vivid memories. But did any of this reduce hunger? Create jobs? Raise incomes? No. The people feel deceived. However, the courage of the deprived is growing.

Perceptions, Narratives and Reality

A REPORT by the Kerala correspondent of The Indian Express, datelined Thiruvananthapuram, March 7, 2026, observed: “Unlike previous assembly elections that were dominated by allegations and counter-allegations over various corruption scandals, the LDF Government 2.0 is seen to have avoided any such major rows, around which the Congress could have built its poll plank.

Convention and Rally Held in Mahad to Mark Chavdar Tank Satyagraha

The historic town of Mahad in the Raigad district of Maharashtra once again became the centre of a powerful assertion of social justice and resistance on March 19–20, 2026, as the Communist Party of India (Marxist), along with the Jati Ant Sangharsh Samiti (JASS) (Struggle Committee for Annihilation of Caste), organised a ‘Human Rights Convention against Manuwad and Capitalism’ at Betkar Maharaj Math (Comrade R B More Nagar), Ladavli village, near Mahad, followed by a massive rally the next day.

Clashes a ploy to fool people, capture ADC: Chaudhury

CLASHES before elections and camaraderie after-such infighting among ruling parties aims to divert public attention and capture the ADC, alleged CPI(M) Politburo member Jitendra Chaudhury. He was addressing a spirited rally on Monday in the Manu-Chailengta constituency in support of the Left Front candidate. Earlier, despite heavy rain, he also addressed a meeting in the Halhuli-Asharambari constituency.

AP: Preserve India’s Anti-Imperialist Legacy, Unite and Protest US–Israel Aggression on Iran

PRAKASH KARAT, former General Secretary of the CPI(M), has urged people to protest against the ongoing US–Israel aggression on Iran. Speaking as the chief guest at a state-level seminar on “Imperialism in the 21st Century – Present Geopolitics,” organized by the CPI(M) Andhra Pradesh State Committee on March 27, Karat said that the military actions of the US and Israel against Iran are unjust and immoral. He said that the United States has been attacking Iran for the past 28 days, while Iran has been resisting with all its might.
