CITU Foundation Day Observed on May 30

THE foundation day of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions was observed throughout the country with various programmes on May 30.The 15th conference of CITU decided to conduct a month long campaign from May 1-30 aiming at ideological development of the cadres and members. On the occasion of the centenary of Great October revolution, popular lectures/classes on ‘the journey of the working class from May Day demanding social justice to the Great October Revolution establishing the State for social justice’ at all levels of the organisation were organised up to the union committees.

ANDHRA PRADESH: Rayalaseema Bandh Call against Govt Apathy Successful

THE 24-hour strike call in Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh given by the CPI(M) and the CPI on May 24 against the negligent attitude of the state government toward the problems of the people of this drought-hit region was a resounding success. HARYANA: AIKS Holds its Twelfth State Conference

THE twelfth Haryana state conference of the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) was held successfully in Bhiwani on May 20-21. AIDWA Delegation Visits Jhewar Victims

A DELEGATION of the Delhi state committee of AIDWA, comprising Asha Sharma (general secretary), Maimoona Mollah (president), and Sehba Farooqui, Anjana, Asha Yadav (vice presidents), visited Jhewar to meet the victims and family of the recent violent attack and gang rape. The incident had occurred early morning on May 25 – a family, travelling by car was attacked near NOIDA Expressway, one of them, Shakil was shot dead and the women violated.
