Scrap the ‘Agnipath Scheme’

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on June 16, 2022THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly disapproves of the ‘Agnipath’ scheme that does a disservice to India’s national interests. Professional armed forces cannot be raised by recruiting ‘soldiers on contract’ for a period of four years. This scheme, to save pension money, severely compromises the quality and efficiency of our professional armed forces.For the last two years, there has been no recruitment in the Indian army.

Bankrupt Politics of Congress in Kerala

KERALA is witnessing the dubious spectacle of  Congress and BJP protesters out in the streets demanding the resignation of the chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan. In several places, the protesters have turned violent and clashed with the police.The agitation has been motivated by the ludicrous allegations made by an accused, Swapna Suresh, who has been charge-sheeted in the gold smuggling case and is out on bail.

Kerala: Attempt to Attack Chief Minister in Aeroplane Foiled

CO PASSENGERS travelling in a flight along with Pinarayii Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala,  foiled the attempt of two youth Congress leaders who tried to manhandle him. The two youth Congress leaders were taken into custody after they were captured by the CISF personnel as the plane landed in Trivandrum. This attempt to manhandle the chief minister took place on June 13 on an Indigo flight from Kannur to Trivandrum at 3.30 pm.

Assam: Political Parties Submit Memorandum to Governor

SEVEN political parties of the state of Assam, namely the Indian National Congress, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist)-Liberation,   Assam Jatiya Parishad, Raijor Dal and Anchalik Gana Marcha, jointly presented a memorandum to the governor of Assam on 15 June, at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati demanding a high-level commission of inquiry headed by a high court sitting judge to inquire into the growing incidents of extrajudicial killings--so-called 'encounter killings' and custodial deaths in Assam since the assumption of office
