Militant Demonstrations against Attack on Students And Raid on CPI(M) office

HUNDREDS of activists of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) held a militant protest demonstration in front of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in Shimla on March 31, 2015. Similar such protests were held throughout the state, right from Poanta Sahib in the eastern part of the state to Chamba and from Kinnaur to Una. Huge demonstrations were held in Mandi, Kullu, Hamirpur, Solan,Nahan,Una, Kangra, Dharamshala, Baijnath, Joginder Nagar and several other  Tehsil headquarters.

HIMACHAL PRADESH: CPI(M) Condemns Congress Govt’s Attack on its Office

THE Himachal Pradesh State Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in a press statement issued on March 19 has strongly condemned the brutal lathicharge on the protesting students at Vidhan Sabha chowk, which was followed by an attack on CPI(M) office which was ransacked and the leadership of the Party was mercilessly beaten up. The leaders were dragged and given harsh beating inside the office and were taken to Boileauganj police station. Even there they were not spared and each one of them was separately beaten up in a room while the lights were switched off.

Brutal Lathicharge on Anganwadi Workers

THE anganwadi workers and helpers were brutally  lathicharged , tear gas and water cannons were used to disperse thousands of workers who were agitating on their demands  in Chandigarh on March 11, 2015. The Anganwadi Workers Union Punjab (CITU) organised a massive rally in front of the office of director, social welfare department. The workers were marching in a procession to submit a memorandum when the Chandigarh police resorted to lathicharge on the workers. Many workers got seriously injured.

Massive Strike against Insurance Amendment Bill

THE Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) in a statement issued on March 7 has denounced the NDA government’s deplorable act of getting the Insurance Law (Amendment) Bill 2015 passed in Lok Sabha by neglecting the opposition by all trade unions and the public sector insurance workers. The Bill hikes FDI to 49 per cent (from the present 26 per cent) in insurance sector and opens routes for privatisation of general insurance sector.The BJP led NDA government introduced the Bill in Lok Sabha and got it adopted on March 4, 2015 although the Bill is pending with the Rajya Sabha.

IT rained all through the day and night on March 1, pouring down and flooding the streets.  Not only in Delhi but in almost all parts of the country.But nothing could deter the determined ASHA workers from making their way to Delhi. They came from 13 states of India – from far off Tripura, Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka, Odisha, Bihar, and nearer J&K, Gujarat, Maharashtra,  UP, Punjab Haryana,  and Delhi.

The All India Kisan Sabha (36 Canning Lane), All India Kisan Sabha (Ajoy Bhavan), All India Agricultural Workers’ Union (36 Canning Lane), Bharatiya Khet Mazdoor Union (Ajoy Bhavan) have issued the following statement on February 24, 2015A SUCCESSFUL joint march to parliament was organised on February 24 with the slogan “Scrap Land Acquisition Ordinance; Ensure Land Rights” demanding withdrawal of the ordinance declared by the Narendra Modi government to amend the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
