JNU Student’s Protest against Fee Hike

JAWAHARLAL Nehru University is a public funded central university that attracts the dreams of many students who come from remote villages of this country. By the new rules, a large number of students will be forced to leave their education because they will fail to pay the increased fees. For more than 15 days, JNU students have been protesting against fee hike and the Inter-Hall Administration (IHA) hostel manual that proposes regressive guidelines for students.

AIPSO Protests the Visit of US Secretary of State

THE All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) had organised a protest demonstration against the US on June 25, coinciding with the visit of Mike Pompeo, US Secretary of State to India. The protest was against the US imposition of sanctions against India, Cuba, Iran, Venezuela and other countries and its wars of aggression. The protest rally started from Mandi House and culminated at the American Cultural Centre.

Huge Kisan-Mazdoor Jail Bharo

THE AIKS and CITU have congratulated the people of the country, especially the workers and the farmers, for their overwhelming response to the August 9 Jail Bharo movement. It was expected that over 20 lakh people will participate, but the reports received at the centre as we go to the press show that the number may increase the targeted figure.

All India Protest Day against Murder of Democracy

ON July 24, a strong protest demonstration was held by five Left parties in Delhi. The call was to expose the terror unleashed by the TMC in West Bengal and the BJP-IPFT in Tripura. The central leadership of CPI(M), CPI, CPI (ML)-Liberation, Forward Block (FB) and RSP participated at Parliament Street. Such protests were also organised in different parts of the country.In Delhi, the activists of the Left parties from Delhi region and from the neighbouring districts of Haryana and UP participated. Leading activists from Tripura and West Bengal were also present in the Delhi protest.

Pol Khol Halla Bol Rallies Across the Country

THE Jan Ekta Jan Adhikar Andolan (Peoples unity, peoples rights movement) is a newly formed platform of mass, class and social organisations, employees federations, teacher’s organisations, unorganised sector unions, dalit and tribal organizations, progressive non-government organisations and individuals. In its general body meeting, it decided to organise massive protests all over the country against the misrule of the anti-peasant, anti-working class, anti-minority, anti-dalit NDA government and expose the utter failures in its four-year rule.

Workers across India go on Jail Bharo Satyagraha

Workers, belonging to ten different trade unions, demanded the implementation of the 12-point charter they had given to the union government last year.AFTER the historic three-day Mahapadav in November 2017, the joint platform of trade unions continues to fight against the anti-worker policies of the government. The joint platform had decided that in the last week of January they will hold a Jail Bharo satyagraha across the country. On January 30, workers across India have gone on a jail bharo (fill jails) Satyagraha.

Thousands of Kisans Hold Novel Kisan Sansad

IN a historic protest action, thousands of farmers representing more than 184 organisations came to Delhi for the Kisan Sansad/Kisan Parliament held on November 20-21, 2017. On November 20 they marched in a colourful procession from the Ramlila Maidan with tens of thousands holding red flags and banners with an accompaniment of green, blue, yellow and pink flags winding their way to the Parliament Street.

People Protest Demonetisation Disaster

Protesting against the ruination of the Indian economy and the livelihood conditions of the vast majority of our people due to demonetisation, the Left parties observed a `Protest Day’ across the country against the economic policies pursued by the BJP governments at the centre and the states, on November 8.
