TELANGANA state government has not taken any necessary steps since the last seven years to amend minimum wages in 73 scheduled employment sectors and the workers are in frustration. CITU state committee of Telangana had taken up this issue for the campaign in the month of September 2021, also added the demands of abolishing Labour Codes, to issue gazette of GO’s released for five sectors in June 2021.

SITARAM Yechury, general secretary of the CPI(M), whilst placing the decisions of the Polit Bureau meeting in a press conference on October 11, demanded sacking of the union minister Ajay Mishra, and stringent action against his son, Ashish Mishra who is an accused in the killing of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri in UP.

CPI(M) CENTRAL Committee member, convener of Tripura Left Front Committee, former state secretary of Party Tripura unit and, an eminent socialist ideologue Comrade Bijan Dharhas breathed his last at the dawn of October 11, 2021, while in treatment in a private hospital in Kolkata. He was 71 years old.

IN a brutal and inhuman attack on peacefully protesting farmers led by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) at Tikonia in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh on October 3, 2021, a convoy of vehicles associated with BJP's union minister of state for home Ajay Mishra Teni, his son Ashish Mishra Teni, and other goons ran over several farmer protestors. It is reported that one of the farmers was shot dead by the son of the union minister. Four farmers and one local journalist were killed in the incident, and several others were seriously injured.

THE third state conference of AIDWA was held from September 24-26,2021, in Suryapet in an enthusiastic atmosphere. One day before the conference on September 23, a photo exhibition about the women's movement was arranged and it was inaugurated by the state women commission chairperson, Sunitha Laxma Reddy.
