IT was an epic first victory of the one year long historic struggle of the farmers of India over corporate communalism, as represented by the Modi-Shah-led BJP-RSS central government and its alliance with foreign and domestic corporates, represented by the two ace crony corporates Ambani and Adani. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationally televised address to the country on November 19, 2021 to coincide with the Guru Nanak Jayanti, agreeing to repeal all the three hated farm laws was a stinging defeat for all of them.

REAL nationalism and patriotism can be understood by learning about great patriots like Suryavathi and not from the preachings of the RSS and the BJP, said CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat at the birth centenary celebrations of CPI(M) leader Comrade Manikonda Suryavathi, organised in Vijayawada on November 16.“Suryavathi had worked for the poor rural women. She had fought against the feudal forces. She did not look at caste or religion during her struggle as she considered that real patriotism and nationalism was in mobilising women, peasants, workers and the toiling masses.

The Delhi state committee of DYFI, on November 16, held a dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi in solidarity with the people of Tripura and to protest against the continuous attacks on minorities and Left activists by the BJP and RSS. They DYFI flagged off a country-wide protest campaign starting from Delhi.

CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat unveiled the memorial stupas erected for Comrades Kunja Bojji and Sunnam Rajaiah, ex-MLAs of CPI(M) who lost their lives to coronavirus last year. Both the leaders were outstanding and dedicated party leaders of the agency areas and worked for the welfare of tribals and other peoples in both the Telugu states, she said.  Speaking at the memorial meeting on November 11, Brinda Karat said that the real tribute to the leaders would be for everyone to walk in the path laid by them.

HECTIC nationwide preparations are on by peasants and workers across India to make the nationwide actions on and around November 26 a resounding success. November 26, 2021 marks the completion of one year of the historic farmers’ struggle, the first anniversary of the nationwide strike by the working class, and also the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India. On that day, massive congregations will be held at all the Delhi borders, and also throughout the country, at the joint call of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and the Central Trade Unions (CTUs).
