THE strike of Anganwadi workers and helpers has been going on for the last 50 days in Haryana even as the BJP government in the state intensified measures of a crackdown on them. Despite all the tactics of repression, the movement has only strengthened and the strike is expanding.TERMINATION OF SERVICESInstead of resolving the demands, the BJP government has adopted the path of suppression towards the movement. In the last 10 days, termination letters have been issued to more than 50 workers and helpers, who are leading the movement.

THIRD state conference of the CPI(M) Telangana committee was held successfully from January 22-25, 2022 in Turkyamjal, Rangareddy district. A total of 455 delegates, 95 observers and 15 veterans attended the conference. Among them were 82 women. 302 delegates attending the conference were below 50 years of age; 386 delegates came from socially oppressed sections and 316 delegates belonged to the basic classes – working class, agricultural workers and poor peasants. 401 delegates joined the Party in the last 30 years.

THE Jammu & Kashmir unit of the CPI(M) has expressed its strong resentment over the closure of Kashmir Press Club(KPC) by the administration of the union territory.A statement issued by the Party-state secretary, Gulab Nabi Malik on January 18,  demanded the restoration of the status quo of the club's impending re-registration.The CPI(M) has asked the administration to provide an atmosphere where KPC can have free and fair elections for its body.Targeting the administration Malik said that closing the KPC was a direct assault on the rights of the press people.

AS people all over the world ushered in the new year, a major accident took place due to illegal mining in Khanak Dadam hills of Bhiwani district of Haryana. In this January 1 accident, five labourers died and two were seriously injured. There was a big explosion in the hill of Dadam at 9 in the morning in which seven labourers and two pokland machines and four dumper vehicles were buried under the stones. A stone slipped from the mountain and fell, whose length was 40 feet, the width was 30 feet and whose weight is said to be seven tons.
