Two CITU Railway Unions Win Recognition in Railway Secret Ballot Election

FOLLOWING a Delhi High Court order to conduct a secret ballot election for the recognition of railway trade unions (i.e., verification of membership in Indian Railways) in a case filed by the Dakshin Railway Employees Union (DREU) in Southern Railway, an affiliate of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), elections were held on December 4, 5, and 6, 2024.

CITU Holds Organised Sector Young Worker Activists’ Meeting

THE Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) organised a meeting of young workers in the organised sector on December 9, 2024, at HKS Surjeet Bhawan, New Delhi. ASHA Workers' Rally Demands Regularisation, Minimum Wages and Social Security

THOUSANDS of ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activists) workers and facilitators from 13 states converged at Jantar Mantar on November 29, in a powerful show of solidarity. CITU Condemns Arrest of Union Leaders, Demands TN Govt to Uphold Workers' Right to Unionise

THE Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), in a statement issued on October 9, condemned the arrest of CITU national vice president A S Soundarajan, state secretary E Muthukumar, and other Samsung workers on strike. CITU Denounces Unified Pension Scheme Calls it Another Dubious Effort to Deceive Employees

THE Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), in a statement issued on August 25, denounced the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) approved by the union cabinet on August 24, 2024, as another dubious and desperate effort to deceive government employees of their rightful claim to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). CITU urges the restoration of the old pension scheme.The old pension scheme was non-contributory with an assured pension, as per the Central Civil Service Rules, 1972, and later, the 2021 rules.
