CPI(M) Polit Bureau met on August 18, 2025 and issued the following communiqueThe Polit Bureau expressed condolences on the death of more than a hundred people who died in the recent natural disasters in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.PM’s Independence Day Speech: The Polit Bureau strongly condemned the reference to the RSS in the Independence Day address of the prime minister. Through this, Modi is attempting to legitimise the RSS, which played no role in the India’s freedom struggle.

CPI(M) Polit Bureau met on July 18, 2025 and issued the following communiqueSpecial Intensive Revision of the Electoral Rolls – Protests on August 8:The Election Commission ordered a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar. Now, the EC wants to extend this exercise to the entire country. In the name of revising the electoral rolls, the EC is appropriating the authority to verify the citizenship of voters, which is outside its constitutional remit.

It has issued the following statement on May 4, 2025THE Polit Bureau condoled the death of 26 people who were killed by terrorists in Pahalgam and observed a minute’s silence.PAHALGAM TERROR ATTACKThe horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam which killed 26 people has united the whole country in condemnation and grief. All efforts must be made to track down the killers and punish them. The terrorist attack was the result of a major security lapse.

It has issued the following statement on June 10, 2024 ELECTIONS TO THE 18TH LOK SABHAThe results of the elections to the 18th Lok Sabha constitute a significant setback for the BJP. The people of India, asserting their defence of the constitution and the secular democratic character of the republic, have deprived the BJP of a majority it had secured in the last two Lok Sabha elections of 2014 and 2019.

It has issued the following statement on December 10RECENT ASSEMBLY ELECTIONSThe BJP registered a clear victory in the three Hindi speaking states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.Though the Congress Party could more or less retain its vote share of 2018, it lost its governments in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The BJP increased its vote share in all three states.There is a consolidation of the core Hindutva vote in all three states.

This requires that the BJP must be kept away from controlling the union government and State power. The Polit Bureau decided to further strengthen these efforts.
