CPI(M)’s Position on Electoral Funding

RESPONDING to the finance minister, Arun Jaitley who had asked for suggestions on ‘reforms’ on electoral funding, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury spelt out the CPI(M)’s position on electoral funding in a letter addressed to him on January 9.The CPI(M) has constantly and consistently maintained the need for clean electoral funding, and has been deeply concerned over the years as the system has become more skewed towards those with more money. KERALA: Ockhi Fund Campaign Organised by CPI(M) a Grand Success; Collects Rs 4.8 crores

IN a unique humanitarian gesture to provide monetary help to the victims of Ockhi Cyclone which devastated the southern Kerala coast exactly one month ago, CPI(M) workers in the state have collected Rs 4,81,02,511  (Four crores eighty one lakhs two thousand five hundred and eleven) from the people of the state.Party workers all over the state made a hundi collection on December 21. The money will be handed over to state government’s relief fund to provide assistance to the family of Ockhi victims.

CPI(M) Remembers Nalua Martyrs

A huge rally was organised by the CPI(M) at Nalua, under Hrishyamukh assembly constituency of Belonia, in Tripura on December 22 to remember the four martyrs of Nalua. Comrades Niresh Debnath, Manik Nama, Sushil Mahajan and Swapan Debnath were brutally murdered on  December 22, 1989 during the semi fascist Congress TUJS regime. Their bodies were brutality chopped off and buried.  Three bodies were recovered few days later. The then chief minister Sudhir Majumdar was holding a meeting in the same area. However the skeleton of Comrade Sushil Mahajan was recovered only in 1993.

Logo for 22nd Congress of CPI(M) Released

The logo for the 22nd Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), scheduled to be held from April 18-22 , 2018 in Hyderabad was released by state secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram, who is also the general secretary of the Reception Committee. Along with him on the dais are Ch Sitaramulu, Central Committee member, B Venkat, treasurer of the Reception Committee and state secretariat member, Jyoti and Sunnam Rajyam, MLA, both state secretariat members and secretaries of the Reception Committee.
