Attempt to Disrupt Press Conference

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on June 7.THE Polit Bureau strongly condemns the efforts made by two persons claiming allegiance to an RSS outfit to disrupt a press conference being addressed by general secretary Sitaram Yechury at the end of the two-day meeting of the Polit Bureau.Masquerading as journalists these persons tried to enter the hall where the conference was being held and started shouting anti-CPI(M) slogans.

CATTLE SALE BAN NOTIFICATION: Cover for Communal Agenda

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on May 27. THE notification of the ministry of environment, forests and climate change that bans sale of cattle for slaughter is an atrocious attempt by the Modi government to give legal cover for its wholly communal and divisive agenda to impose a diet code on the country.It will destroy the livelihood of crores of farmers involved in animal husbandry, eliminate traditional cattle fairs, put an unfair burden on farmers to care for useless cattle.

Shabbirpur Victims Accompanied by CPI(M) Leaders Meet President

Belt and Road Initiative: Blinkered View of Government

INDIA has isolated itself by not participating in the Belt and Road Forum held in Beijing on May 14-15. To justify its non-participation, the Modi government has questioned the motives behind the One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative taken by China which is linking countries and regions representing 60 per cent of the world’s population and 30 per cent of the global GDP. China launched this initiative in 2013 with the aim of reincarnating the old silk road in a contemporary form.
