THE Central Kisan Committee (CKC) meeting of the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) held from June 28-30, 2025 at the E K Nayanar Academy, Kannur, Kerala, decided to hold massive protests on July 9 along with the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) at the tehsil level, and work actively to make the General Strike called by the Central Trade Unions (CTUs) a massive success.The meeting discussed the grim agrarian scenario in the country, and the anti-farmer, pro-corporate policies of the BJP-led NDA government.

FOLLOWING unseasonal heavy rains and thunderstorms in several states killing at least 80 persons and livestock, and causing heavy damage to crops and orchards, the All-India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) has demanded ex-gratia to the families of the deceased and adequate compensation to farmers.In a press statement issued on May 23, AIKS said “large-scale deaths due to thunderstorms and heavy rainfall have been reported from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana and other states.

THE two-day All India Convention of Women Agricultural and Rural Workers, organised by the All India Agricultural Workers’ Union, was held at the EMS Academy in Malappuram district, Kerala, on May 9-10, 2025. The convention began with the flag hoisting by Durga Swami, central working committee member and state secretary of AIAWU’s Rajasthan unit, followed by floral tributes at the Martyrs’ Column.The convention was inaugurated by the U Vasuki, vice president of AIDWA, and CPI(M) Polit Bureau member.

THE All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), in a statement issued on March 4, has congratulated the fighting rubber farmers for their resolute determination in the face of exploitation by the tyre cartel. The cartelisation in the Indian tyre sector is an entrenched anti-competitive practice that denies a fair price to the natural rubber farmers while looting consumers.

THE Samyukt Kisan Morcha Punjab had planned to hold a protest in Chandigarh on     March 5 to address the pending demands of the farmers. However, the AAP led Punjab government, which claims to be the protector of democracy, launched a brutal attack on the democratic rights of farmers by starting to arrest leaders of various constituent organisations of SKM from their homes. Prior to this, on March 2, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had a meeting with representatives of farmer organisations, which ended fruitlessly.
