THE All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), in a statement issued on September 3, has noted the grim flood situation in the agrarian states of Punjab and Haryana due to excessive rainfall in the month of August. Due to heavy downpour in the upper catchment areas of Himachal Pradesh (HP) and Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), along with surplus water released from several dams, the Beas and Sutlej rivers are overwhelmed and the resulting deluge has caused extensive damages to the standing crops in the two agrarian states.

THE All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), in a statement issued on August 12, has strongly rejected the claim made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that “the welfare of farmers is the highest priority” for his government. Nothing could be farther from the truth. AIKS Condemns Scrapping of Cotton Import Duty

THE All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), in a statement issued on August 20, has condemned the decision of the RSS-BJP led union government to scrap the 11 per cent import duty on raw cotton. The decision, notified by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) is valid from August 19 until September 30, 2025. This decision will result in a reduction in the price of imported cotton which, in turn, will push prices of domestic cotton downwards.

AIKS Raises Alarm over Record RBI Surplus Transfer to Union Govt

THE All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), in a statement issued on May 27, has noted with grave concern that the central board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently decided to transfer a record Rs 2.69 lakh crore surplus to the union government for the financial year 2024-25. The RBI took this decision after revising their Economic Capital Framework (ECF) which gave the apex regulator the flexibility for making smooth surplus transfers to the union government.
