CPI (M) Karnataka state committee, in a statement issued on February 10, 2022, has condemned the unnecessary controversy of ‘hijab and saffron shawl’ which started in a college in Udupi and has created a communal divide among students in educational institutions across the state. It has urged the state government to make sincere efforts to stop it.Communal organisations are responsible for this controversy and present state of affairs in the state.

Haryana: Anganwadi Workers Protest Near CM’s Residence

AS the state-wide strike of the anganwadi workers and helpers in Haryana enters its third month, they staged a mahapadav near chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s residence in Karnal on February 14, demanding the government to resume talks with the agitating workers. Over 30,000 anganwadi workers and helpers from 18 districts took part in the programme. They also took out a rally in the city, raising slogans against the BJP-JJP coalition government in the state.February 14th marks the 68th day of the indefinite strike of the anganwadi workers and helpers in Haryana.

Why Capitalist Governments Worry More about Inflation than Unemployment?

CAPITALIST governments invariably seek to control inflation by enlarging unemployment. This has nothing to do with any belief in a stable “trade-off” between the two, namely in a stable curve that links the two. Even those who attribute inflation to other causes, such as excessive money supply (“too much money chasing too few goods”) and find the solution to it in monetary stringency, are in effect seeking to control it through larger unemployment, since monetary stringency causes larger unemployment.This raises many questions.
