Draft Organisational Report Stresses the Need To Build Party’s Independent Strength

THE Draft Organisational Report was placed by B V Raghavulu, CPI(M) Polit Bureau member, on April 4. At the outset, Raghavulu mentioned that the Organisational Report is not a standalone document but is a continuation of the Political Review Report, which evaluated the implementation of the Political Tactical Line adopted at the 23rd Congress in 2022.

CPI(M) Welcomes Supreme Court Judgement

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on April 8.

THE Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) welcomes the landmark judgement of the Supreme Court setting aside the Tamilnadu Governor’s decision to withhold assent to the bills passed by the Tamilnadu legislative assembly.  The Court declared that the ten legislations withheld by the Governor will now become laws. 

Protest the Price Hike of Gas Cylinders

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on April 8, 2025THE Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) condemns the huge increase in the price of gas cylinders and the imposition of special excise duty on petrol and diesel.The central government announced a Rs 50 hike in the price of gas cylinders for both general and subsidised categories, burdening the people by around Rs 7,000 crores.

Financialisation and Rising Household Debt

INCREASED dependence on debt and depletion of savings by average Indian households has been recognised as the emerging trend in the past three years. According to a recent RBI report India’s household debt has been 42.9 per cent of GDP at current market prices. The Financial Stability Report also recognises that the number of borrowers increased in the recent past. Increased dependence on personal loans, credit cards, consumer durable loans and other personal loans are on the rise.

The Party Congress Has Shown The Way Forward

THE 24th Congress of the CPI(M), which concluded at Madurai on April 6 with a massive rally, was notable in many respects. There were changes both in the agenda and content of the Congress discussions.First of all, a Political Review Report which reviewed the implementation of the political-tactical line adopted at the 23rd Congress was presented along with the Draft Political Resolution for discussion by the delegates.
