TELANGANA: Comrade Sundarayya’s Death Anniversary Observed

ON May 19, the 34th death anniversary of Comrade P Sundarayya was observed in Sundarayya Vignana Kendram (SVK) in Baghlingampalli  and also at the new Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Gachibowli. Glowing tributes were paid and the statue of Sundarayya was garlanded by Prof Ram Puniyani from IIT Mumbai and by many others present at the venue.Later, he spoke on the subject “defence of democracy and immediate duty today”. He said that Sundarayya was one of the founders and builders of communist movement in India.

Hundreds of academicians, intellectuals, cultural activists and others have jointly issued the following statement on May 17WE are deeply shocked by the statement of Pragya Thakur, the BJP candidate for the Bhopal Lok Sabha seat, lauding Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, as a “desh bhakt”.
