Himachal Protests: CPI(M) Demands Justice for Dalits

In response to a disturbing surge in atrocities against Dalits in Himachal Pradesh, CPI(M) launched statewide protests on October 6, 2025, condemning the incidents as symptomatic of a deep-rooted and resurgent "manuvadi" ideology that seeks to undermine the Indian Constitution. The party frames this not just as isolated crimes but as a symptom of a deeper ideological struggle.

World Notes the Emergence of China

A DELEGATION of the CPI(M) visited China at a time when both, the world and China, are experiencing extraordinary scenes. Our six-member team visited Beijing and the provinces of Hubei and Zhejiang, from September 23 to 30.I first visited China forty years ago, in 1985, to participate in an international youth gathering. Stirring Up a Hornet’s Nest over Ayodhya and Kashi

IT is bizarre that the Ayodhya and Kashi issues have again started unravelling. These questions remained in suspended animation with orders from the highest judiciary. For many, the Ayodhya verdict was an enigma with the apex court order that those who criminally destroyed Babri Mosque were in fact, to be rewarded with ownership, and facilitated in construction of the Ram Temple. Significantly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underlined this judicial validation while inaugurating the Ram Mandir.

Two Expressions of Capitalism’s Cul-De-Sac

WORLD capitalism has reached a cul-de-sac. The immense rise in income inequality in every country under the neo-liberal regime has brought about a stagnation of the system: since consumption out of a unit of income is higher for the poor than for the rich, the rise in income inequality means that the rise in demand does not keep pace with the rise in productive capacity, causing a slowdown in growth leading to stagnation and much higher unemployment. This is the situation in which the world economy has been caught ever since the bursting of the housing bubble in the U.S. in 2008.

Release Sonam Wangchuk
