Kerala: Wide Criticism on Congress Leader’s Remarks on Kerala CM

CONGRESS leader Rahul Gandhi's provocative and unsubstantiated comments about Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan have drawn widespread criticism from across the political spectrum in Kerala. During several public events, Rahul Gandhi, who has faced multiple interrogations by the Enforcement Directorate, expressed his surprise at the agency's inaction regarding Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.Referring to the arrests of Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal, the sitting MP of Wayanad said that two chief ministers had already been imprisoned for opposing the BJP-led central government.

Spewing Hate and Bigotry

THE prime minister’s vitriolic speech of April 21, delivered two days after the first phase of polling of the Lok Sabha elections, has been widely condemned both in India and abroad.  The language and bigotry which he displayed to incite hatred against the Muslim community and the political parties whom he accused of favouring them were reminiscent of the rhetoric he employed in his speeches immediately after the Gujarat pogrom against Muslims that happened in 2002 when he was the chief minister.
