Indiscriminate Arrests of JNU Students Condemned

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on February 12, 2016.

THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the indiscriminate arrests of Left and progressive student leaders from the JNU campus. It is reported that currently the police is conducting a combing operation in JNU and its hostels.

Police have raided hostels without any arrest warrant indiscriminately searching for student leaders. The presence of police in the campus and such indiscriminate arrests from hostels had last happened during the Emergency.

Nava Kerala Concludes with a Massive Rally

Defend JNU from the Communal Onslaughts

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) now in session in New Delhi has issued the following statement on February 17.THE Central Committee of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the Delhi Police for not carrying out the directions of the Supreme Court to provide adequate security to arrested JNU Students Union president, Kanhaiya Kumar.  Despite these orders, Kanhaiya was assaulted today at the Patiala House courts by the RSS/BJP goons under the very nose of the police.

THE execution of the prominent Saudi Shia cleric, Ayatollah Sheikh Nimr Baqr al-Nimr, by the Saudi authorities on January 1 along with 47 others, has led to a dangerous exacerbation of tensions between the Saudi monarchy and Iran. The execution of al-Nimr, whose only crime was calling for a peaceful struggle against the authoritarian regime in Riyadh, has further accentuated the dangerous sectarian divide in West Asia. Last year, 157 people were put to death in Saudi Arabia.
