Jharkhand: CPI(M) Welcomes Formation of Displacement Commission

THOUGH delayed, the approval by the state cabinet of the Jharkhand State Displacement and Rehabilitation Commission Functions and Responsibilities Rules, 2025 for the formation of a Displacement Commission to safeguard the rights of the displaced, is indeed a positive initiative. The CPI(M) state secretariat, in a statement issued on September 3, has welcomed this move of the Hemant Soren led state government.

AP: Socialism is the Future

CPI(M) Politburo member BV Raghavulu has said that respect and admiration for socialism is steadily increasing in society, and that the future of the country lies with socialism. He was addressing a seminar organised by the CPI(M) West Godavari district committee on August 8, in Bhimavaram, which was presided over by the Party’s district secretary JVN Gopalan.Raghavulu explained that many of the country’s problems stem from caste and economic inequalities, and that without these divisions, nearly half of India’s problems would not exist.

Maha: Massive Response to 'India Stands with Palestine' Call

MORE than a thousand citizens of Mumbai gathered at a public meeting held at Azad Maidan, Mumbai, on August 20, to protest against and call for an immediate end to the Genocide being perpetrated by Israel at Gaza. With bombing, shooting of civilians and food and water blockade of Gaza, a programme of ethnic cleansing of Palestinians is in progress at Gaza. The permanent occupation of Gaza is the stated aim of the Israeli regime. The International Criminal Court has indicted the prime minister of Israel, Netanyahu and the defence minister, Gallant for war crimes and genocide.

Rajasthan: AIDWA State Conf Calls for Struggles against BJP’s Manuwadi Agenda

THE 13th state conference of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA), Rajasthan committee, was held from August 15-17, at Gangashahar in Bikaner. The venue was named as Kamla Chaudhary Manch, Harish Bhadani Hall, Comrade Shyopat Singh Makkasar Nagar. The programme opened with state president Kamala Meghwal hoisting the flag, followed by floral tributes at the martyrs’ column.

Maha: CPI(M) Holds State Camp of Party Secretaries

A state camp of party secretaries of CPI(M) was held at Solapur from August 22-24, 2025. It was attended by 293 comrades, including 26 women, from 25 districts. The comrades comprised district, tehsil, town, and area Party secretaries and selected branch secretaries from each district. The first five districts were Solapur (75), Thane-Palghar (62), Ahilyanagar (25), Nanded (19) and Mumbai (15).

THE “Voter Adhikar Yatra,” launched under the leadership of the Mahagathbandhan on August 17 from Sasaram, with Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav as its most visible faces, has traversed a long road from the southwest corner to the northeast corner of Araria, turning into a mass movement.As a participant in the yatra representing the CPI(M), I had never witnessed such enthusiasm for a democratic cause – saving the right to vote.The inaugural rally in Sasaram on August 17 saw massive participation from people of all ages.

Finalise NRC Before Revising Assam Voters’ List: CPI(M)

THE Election Commission of India has started the process for Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across the country, starting with Bihar. The Assam state committee of CPI(M), in a statement issued on August 25, 2025, said that under present conditions, such hurried revision – on the Bihar model – will not produce an accurate voters’ list. On the contrary, many genuine citizens risk exclusion.In Bihar, due to the Commission’s biased and partisan role, around 65 lakh names were arbitrarily deleted from the draft list of approximately 8 crore voters.

TN: Fidel Castro Centenary Observed with Solidarity Pledge to Cuba

THE National Committee for Solidarity with Cuba (NCSC) gave a call in January 2025 for a grand celebration of the centenary of Fidel Castro. Since then, preliminary preparations have been underway in Tamil Nadu. It was decided to collect a solidarity fund to be sent to Cuba. The economic blockade and intimidatory tactics of US imperialism – extended even to countries maintaining relations with Cuba – have been further exacerbated by the whimsical trade and tariff wars initiated under the Trump regime.
