After Palghar Victory, Nashik March Makes State Government Bend

ON the heels of the victory of the massive CPI(M)-led march in Palghar district from January 19-21, 2026, another huge march led by the CPI(M) and the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) was held in Nashik district from January 25-27, 2026. It began from Nashik and marched over 75 km in the direction of Mumbai up to Khardi in Thane district. This was preceded by road blockades in various tehsils of Nashik district from January 17, and then the marchers walked from these tehsils to reach Nashik city by January 24 night to begin the march next day.

14th AIDWA Conference Pledges to Uphold Women’s Rights, Oppose Imperialism, and Combat Communal Manuwad

The 14th National Conference of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) was held in Sarojini Balanandan Nagar and Chandrakala Pandey Hall, RTC Kalyan Mandapam, Hyderabad, from January 25-28, 2026. This was the first AIDWA National Conference held in Telangana. It was attended by 809 women delegates and observers from 25 states.

News has also emerged from Dr. Ambedkar Nagar -- the headquarters of Mhow tehsil in Indore district -- that jaundice has been spreading rapidly there due to the mixing of the borewell water line with the sewage line. So far, 30 people have fallen ill there. Of them, 24 are children. Ten of them had to be hospitalised.

CPI(M) Palghar March ends in Victory on Key Demands

THE massive two-day march of over 55 Km by 50,000 farmers, which was organised by the CPI(M) from Charoti to Palghar in Maharashtra between January 19 and 21, 2026, ended on the night of January 21 after the Palghar District Collector Dr Indu Rani Jakhar held a seven-hour marathon discussion with a large CPI(M) delegation and finally conceded most of the demands in writing within a time frame.
