Delhi: CPI(M) Protests against Price Rise

AT the call of CPI(M) Delhi state c ommittee, protest demonstrations were held in many areas of Delhi NCR on July 7, 2024 against the back breaking price rise of vegetables, fruits and milk. The protesters raised slogans against the policies of the central government which promotes forward trading, hoarding and accused the government of ignoring the problems of the common people.The protesters also alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi is maintaining silence in this difficult period and is not taking any concrete steps to solve the problems of the people.

Uttarakhand: Protest Demands Land Ownership Rights and Halt to Demolitions by the BJP Govt

A BIG demonstration was held at the Dehradun Secretariat on June 27, organised by various worker, political, and social organisations, including CITU, CPI(M), Chetna Andolan, AITUC, Kisan Sabha, Mahila Samiti, Sarvodaya Mandal, and SFI. Hundreds of activists from these organisations participated in the protest, which was supported by the Congress, SP, CPI, BSP, AIYU, Aandolankari Parishad, and Mahila Manch.The protest was held to demand land ownership rights and to stop the Dhami led BJP government's demolition drive.

Delhi: CPI(M) Protests against Water Crisis

THE CPI(M) Delhi state committee organised a protest on June 28, at the lieutenant governor's office protesting against the water crisis in the city. Addressing the demonstration, CPI(M) state secretariat member, Rajeev Kunwar said the LG is acting as a BJP agent, siding with the Haryana government, and using the water crisis to politically attack the Aam Aadmi Party. CITU state secretary, Anurag Saxena criticised the LG for banning private water tankers without providing any alternative solutions, thereby worsening the crisis.

UP: On the Results of Lok Sabha Elections

THE results of the 18th Lok Sabha elections on June 4, 2024 proved that the people voted in favour of saving the constitution and democracy and curbed the dictatorship of the BJP and the Modi government. BJP, which had set a target of crossing 400, got 240 seats only. BJP lost 63 seats compared to the 2019 elections. It could not reach the majority to form the government on its own. However, NDA secured a majority with 293 seats and the NDA government came to power at the centre for the third time under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

HP: CPI(M) Asks Finance Commission for Fair Resource Devolution to the State

ON June 24, 2024, a delegation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Himachal Pradesh, including Rakesh Singha, Kuldip Singh Tanwar, and Sanjay Chauhan, met the 16th Finance Commission during their visit to the state.
