Condemn Murderous Attack on CPI(M) Bihar MLA Ajay Kumar

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on May 30, 2021THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) condemns the murderous attack on Ajay Kumar, leader of the CPI(M) legislature party and member of its Bihar secretariat, at Samastipur. This is the second such attack on him in the past few weeks.The Polit Bureau demands that the culprits must be apprehended immediately and punitive action taken against them. The state government must provide MLA Ajay Kumar adequate security. It should also institute an enquiry on why such incidents are repeating.

Strongly Denounce Israeli Attacks on Palestinians

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on May 11, 2021:THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) denounces the Israeli attacks on Palestinians. The air raids carried out by Israel on the Gaza strip led to the death of many Palestinian citizens.Israel is moving towards the complete occupation of East Jerusalem by attacking Palestinians who were protesting its attempt to forcefully expel residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood to make way for Jewish settlements.

US Should Lift Export Ban

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India(Marxist) has issued the following statement on April 17, 2021THE scaling up of vaccine production in India is being hampered by the shortage of the intermediate material required for vaccine production.Much of this material such as filters, solutions and plastic bags come from the United States. But the US administration has banned the export of vaccine material under its Defence Production Act.Despite requests by the Indian authorities, no relaxation or exemption has been given for export of these items.

Gyanvapi Mosque: Court Order Violates Law

CPI (M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on April 9THE order of a civil court in Varanasi for a survey of the Gyanvapi mosque by the Archaeological Survey of India to ascertain whether a temple existed at the spot is violative of the extant law in the matter.The Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act enjoins the maintenance of status quo in all such religious places of worship.The higher judiciary should immediately intervene to nullify the lower court order.

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on April 10THE American Seventh Fleet warship’s intrusion into India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) waters off the coast of Lakshadweep is a gratuitous challenge to India’s sovereignty.The statement of the Seventh Fleet makes it clear that this operation was for “challenging India’s excessive maritime claims”.The United States is being blatantly hypocritical.  It has not signed the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Seas, of which India is a signatory, but claims it is acting as per international law.
