AILU Condemns Opposition to Ambedkar Statue at Gwalior High Court Premises

THE All India Lawyers’ Union (AILU) has strongly condemned the ongoing opposition to the proposed installation of a statue of Dr B R Ambedkar within the premises of the Gwalior Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, calling it a "dubious attempt to bring back Manusmriti and Manuvadi ideology through the back door."In a statement issued on June 2, the AILU noted that Dr. Ambedkar is not only the principal architect of the Indian Constitution but also a towering figure in the fight against caste oppression and social inequality.

Delhi: DSMM Marks Ambedkar Jayanti with Call for United Struggle against Manuvad and Capitalism

THE Dalit Shoshan Mukti Manch (DSMM) of the Delhi-NCR region celebrated Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s 134th birth anniversary on April 14 at Parliament Street, Delhi, with a call to wage a united struggle against communalism and capitalism.The programme, attended by scores of people, began with CPI(M) General Secretary, M A Baby garlanding Dr Ambedkar’s photograph. He congratulated DSMM for the initiative and emphasized the importance of fighting for social justice to strengthen working-class movements across the country.

NPRD Message on World Disability Day 2024

THE National Platform for the Rights of the Disabled (NPRD) conveys its greetings to the entire disabled people in the country on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, on December 3.In its message last year the NPRD had sought to draw attention to the impact of the ongoing genocide in Gaza on people with disabilities there. A year since, their numbers have swelled.  According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, of the 94,460 injured, approximately 10,000 Palestinians have had their limbs amputated.
